Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
LivestockBook is a livestock record-keeping application developed by Thomas Koukouris. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the LivestockBook mobile application.
1. Information stored on your device
LivestockBook allows you to enter information such as:
- Your name and email address
- Animal details and identification numbers
- Animal photographs
- Farms, paddocks and animal groups
- Movements, weights, births, deaths, purchases and sales
- Vaccinations, medications and health checks
- Notes and other livestock records
This information is stored locally on your device. LivestockBook does not operate a user-account system and does not upload these livestock records to a LivestockBook server.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your records and exported files.
2. Offline use
LivestockBook is designed to work offline. Most app features can be used without an internet connection.
An internet connection may be required to purchase or restore a LivestockBook Pro subscription, open external links, contact support, or use services provided by third-party platforms.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
LivestockBook offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s App Store.
Apple processes payments and billing information. LivestockBook does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
LivestockBook uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status and verify access to Pro features. RevenueCat may process information relating to purchases, subscription status, product identifiers, transaction information and an anonymous app-user identifier. RevenueCat requires apps using its service to disclose the collection of purchase information.
4. Analytics
LivestockBook may use PostHog to understand how the app is used and to improve its performance and usability.
Depending on the features enabled in the released version, PostHog may process information such as:
- App screens viewed
- Features and buttons used
- App interactions and usage events
- Device and app-version information
- Anonymous identifiers
- Error or diagnostic information, where error tracking is enabled
- Profile details you choose to provide, such as industry and country
LivestockBook does not intentionally send animal records, animal photographs, names, email addresses or free-text notes to PostHog.
Analytics information is used to understand product usage, identify problems and improve LivestockBook. It is not used for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
5. Exported records
LivestockBook allows you to export animal registers and records as PDF or spreadsheet files.
Exported files are created at your request and may contain personal, farm or animal information. Once exported or shared, those files are controlled by you and by any application, storage provider or person with whom you share them.
6. External services and links
LivestockBook may provide links to external websites or services, including support pages, community pages and feedback services.
Those services operate under their own privacy policies. LivestockBook is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites or services.
7. Data sharing
LivestockBook does not sell your personal information.
Information may be processed by service providers only where necessary to operate features such as subscriptions and analytics. These providers include:
- Apple, for App Store payments and subscriptions
- RevenueCat, for subscription management
- PostHog, for product analytics and, where enabled, error reporting
8. Data retention and deletion
Livestock records stored locally remain on your device until you delete them, delete the app, or erase the device’s application data.
You can remove locally stored information through the app where deletion controls are available, or by deleting LivestockBook from your device.
Analytics and purchase-related information processed by third-party providers may be retained according to their respective policies and legal obligations.
9. Children’s privacy
LivestockBook is designed for farmers, agricultural businesses and other livestock keepers. It is not directed towards children.
LivestockBook does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security
Reasonable measures are used to protect information handled by LivestockBook. However, no device, transmission method or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You should protect access to your device and carefully control where exported reports are stored or shared.
11. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when LivestockBook’s features, services or data-handling practices change.
The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
