Frequently asked questions

Does LivestockBook work offline?

Yes. LivestockBook is designed to work offline, and most features can be used without an internet connection. A connection is only needed for things like subscriptions and support links.

Which livestock species are supported?

LivestockBook supports cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, donkeys, horses, buffalo, rabbits, alpacas, llamas, camels and ostriches.

Can I import my existing animals?

Yes. Type your tag numbers in, paste a table copied out of a spreadsheet, or pick a CSV file. LivestockBook shows you what it read from each column and gives you a preview to confirm before anything is saved.

What can I export?

Two things: an animal register, listing your animals along with any herds and flocks, and your records. Either comes out as a PDF or a spreadsheet, filtered in the Export tab by whatever you need. PDFs carry your farm name and logo, ready to print or hand over.

Can I use LivestockBook for more than one farm?

Yes. You can set up as many farms as you keep stock on, and any number of locations within them — you name those yourself, so call them paddocks, sheds, pens or fields. Labels group animals across all of it.

What's included in the free plan?

Every feature, with two limits: 100 records and 5 exports. There is no cap on how many animals, herds or flocks you keep, and backups are never limited.

Is LivestockBook available on iPhone and Android?

LivestockBook is on the App Store for iPhone now. The Android version is on the way — join the Facebook group and you will hear when it lands.
